About the Position

We are currently seeking a person with a strong background in Commercial/Domestic Construction. This position requires a self-motivated, driven, and reliable Safety Consultant to join a business who is passionate about helping our clients Take the Worry out of Workplace Safety on a casual/Part Time basis - with the potential to develop into consistent regular hours.

This Safety Consultant position will be based from home whilst regularly visiting/Auditing Clients Workplaces within Victoria - with the possibility of interstate travel from time to time (should the need arise)

The consultant position sits within a passionate team of fellow professionals, supporting businesses and organisations across a broad range of industries.

The position will enable you to work autonomously using your theoretical and practical knowledge, qualifications, previous experience, and unique expertise to work closely with clients to implement and understand OHS/WHS practices to meet their lawful safety obligations directly impacting the lives and wellbeing of people at work Australia wide.

Key responsibilities will be;

  • Providing clients with strategic and operational solutions to their WHS/OH&S and risk management needs including; conducting WHS/OH&S audits, risk assessments, systems development and training
  • Establishing and developing relationships with new and existing clients and internal stakeholders
  • Working as part of a team for key client projects to reduce incidents through WHS/OH&S and injury management programs
  • Assisting in the management of cloud-based WHS/OH&S systems
  • Assisting Clients achieve and maintain systems that meet ISO Accreditation Standards and promote continual improvement

How can I tell if this job is for me?

You will meet the following criteria;

  • Minimum of Cert 4 (Diploma Preferred) in WHS/OH&S or equivalent
  • Strong Experience in Safety Management
  • Drivers license and reliable Vehicle
  • Extensive previous experience in a safety related role
  • Demonstrated understanding of WHS/OH&S legislation and risk management with the ability to provide expert advice
  • Proven ability to effectively communicate, problem solve, influence and build credible relationships at all levels; both internally and with clients
  • Strong Computer skills including Microsoft Office
  • Police Check on Request

Not necessary but would be beneficial if you also had;

  • Experience in Developing and Managing (ISO45001 Safety, ISO 9001 Quality & 14001 Environmental) Management System Accreditation Standards
  • Previous experience working within a consulting environment
  • Knowledge of the Federal Safety Commission (FSC)
